Plaque 1:

This home erected by Col. The Hon Sir James Burns KCMG, MLC of Gowan Brae is dedicated to the memory of the loyal and brave Australians who fought for the Empire during the Great War 1914 - 1919 

Plaque 2:

For King and Country this Memorial Home was opened by His Excellency Lord Forster PC GCMG Governor General Commonwealth of Australia April 21st 1922
