Crescent Head War Memorial Middle Image Image Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The Crescent Head War Memorial is a dedicated to all those who have served in the Australian defence forces. It consists of a cylindrical concrete pillar that has been covered with stones. On top of the pillar is a statue of a soldier wearing a slouch hat and holding a rifle. At the base of the pillar is a plaque listing the conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The memorial stands on a three-step concrete platform, bordered by a chain-link fence. To the right of the memorial is a sundial and to its left is a flagpole. The surrounding garden is planted out with rosemary and other low shrubs. The memorial was dedicated on Anzac Day, 25 April 1964 by Reverand E. Williams.
