Forresters Beach Retirement Village Memorial Middle Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The memorial consists of a 9 metre flagpole on a 3x3 metre paved area. The village residents raise the flag every day and hold an Anzac Day service and Remembrance Day service annually. The memorial is accompanied by a low sandstone plinth with a plaque, positioned at the base of the flagpole. The memorial was arranged through the Entrance/Long Jetty RSL Sub Branch via a grant from the Federal Department of Veterans' Affairs. The installation was completed in March 2018 and the dedication ceremony was held on 19 April 2018. The inaugural Anzac Day commemoration service was held on 24 April 2018. Both services were attended by the residents of the village, which included a number of veterans, as well as invited guests from the local area. Inscription This Memorial has been erected in gratitude to the men and women who served and gave their lives for the peace and freedom of Australia in all wars and conflicts.
