His enlistment was in New Zealand where his parents have moved to by the early 1900’s.

Leslie Garnett Hookings had a brother Herbert James Hookings who died in Broken Hill on the 2nd Dec 1929. He was possibly responsible for having his brother’s name added to the Memorial.

 

Also listed on the Pirie Street Methodist Church WW1 Honour Roll displayed in the east porch of Pilgrim Uniting Church, 12 Flinders Street, Adelaide, SA. This church combined with Stow Congregational Church in 1969 – they were direct neighbours over their back fences.
