Description / Background

Tom Howard Memorial Park is named after a soldier who fell during the Second World War. A memorial gate at the entrance to the park bears two plaques with the dedication to Howard and also to those who served in the war.

Within the grounds of the park is a white stone roll of honor naming First World War veterans, established around 1917. Accompanying this are several brass plates identifying other conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The roll and plaques are installed in a brick shelter.
