Description / Background

Berrigan War Memorial is located in Hayes Park on Jerilderie Street in Berrigan. It was officially opened on 12 November 2021 by Mr Brendan Nelson AO in the presence of Mr Ray James OAM, State President NSW RSL.

The memorial cost $50,000 and was funded through community donations and a $10,000 grant under the Australian Government's Saluting Their Service grant program. The monument was constructed by KD Stoneworks of Tumut.

This memorial is dedicated to all those service men and women who served their country at home and abroad in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping deployments.

Also dedicated to the efforts of the people of Berrigan and the wider farming community who served in the essential citizen services and voluntary organisations.
