Description / Background

This war memorial is one of two photographic honour rolls located in the Bondi Surf Bathers' Life Saving Club. It lists the names of 83 members of the club who served in the First World War and includes photographs of the 10 men who were killed in action.

The roll is a decorative timber board, featuring carved columns and gold lettering. It also has a disc inset into the pediment, which is inscribed with the initials of the club and an image of a surf lifesaving reel.

The memorial hangs alongside the Bondi Surf Bathers' Life Saving Club Second World War Honour Roll and other memorabilia related to the club.
