Exeter War Memorial Gates Middle Image Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background Two sandstone-block gate posts, joined by white iron gates. They were originally dedicated on 12 February 1950, and following restoration were rededicated on 12 February 2000. The posts have the original dedication plaques attached. A plaque detailing the rededication is located on a nearby bushrock. Inscription Left post Exeter War Memorial Right post To Those Who Served 1914-1918. 1939-1945 Plaque on rock, next to gate The Exeter War Memorial Gates were officially opened by General Sir John Northcott, KCMG,KCVO,CB,KSt J, Governor of NSW on 12 February 1950 After sustaining damage, the gates were removed and for some years remained in storage. In 1999 a restoration project was undertaken and on 12 February 2000, the gates were officially reopened by The Honourable Gordon Samuel AC, Governor of NSW and dedicated by The Right Reverend Reginald J.
