Description / Background

The Federal Park Wallsend War Memorial is a black granite wall, featuring the Australian Military Forces badge and an honour roll. The rear side of the wall is decorated with four silhouette figures representing the Navy, Army, Airforce, and Women's services. A smaller black granite pillar stands to the right of the wall, with a plaque dedicated to those who gave their lives.

The memorial is located in the south-east corner of the park. Adjacent to the memorial is a field gun that was dedicated on 13 March 2001.
