Description / Background

The memorial is a granite plinth and brass plaque on a concrete base located behind the Rotunda in Anzac Memorial Park, Gulgong.

The memorial commemorates the service held at that site on 11 November 2018 to acknowledge the Centenary of the Armistice ending the First World War, and to remember the fallen in all wars. The memorial is a scaled replica of the plinth in Compiégne, France, that marks the exact location of the signing of the Armistice in November 1918.

The commemorative service and installation of the memorial was organised by the Gulgong RSL sub-Branch.
