Kenthurst and Annangrove War Memorial Middle Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The Kenthurst and Annangrove War Memorial is a triangular block of sandstone, with five bronze plaques attached. Two plaques are inscribed with the names of 110 veterans who served in the First and Second World Wars, with 50 veterans and 60 veterans respectively. The additional three plaques are dedicated to all service personnel from Kenthurst and the surrounding areas who have served in the armed services. The memorial is approximately 1.8 metres high, 400 mm thick and measures 2 meters wide at its base. Positioned at its apex is a bronze ribbon banner with the words 'Lest we forget', above a decorative laurel wreath plaque, which includes the Rising Sun Badge, a Crown, a naval anchor, and wings. These symbols represent the Australian Army, Royal Australian Navy, and the Royal Australian Air Force. The memorial is located in the bushland setting of John Benyon Rotary Park in Kenthurst. Next to it are a 6-metre flagpole, two seats and two pots of rosemary for remembrance.
