It is titled 'Last Farewell' and depicts the human stroking the horse's neck, while holding its left leg. At the base of the sculpture is a plinth, bearing a plaque. The sculpture is a representation of a First World War light horseman, saying goodbye to his horse. The plaque outlines that only one horse returned to Australia at the end of the war. The memorial is located in Remount Park in Holsworthy, NSW. Inscription Last Farewell The Light Horsemen were informed that their horses would not be returning to Australia with them. Only one returned 'Sandy' the charger of Major General Bridges. Dedicated to the memory of the Australian Light Horse. 21 November 1997.
