The names of men from the district who served in the First and Second World Wars are incised on the sides of the monument. The memorial continues to act as a focal point for commemoration of those from Lockhart District. It is a place for reflection on the effects of loss on the Lockhart community and society. Anzac Day is commemorated at this memorial each year at 9am, followed by a march at 10.30am from the township to the Hebden Street memorial. Inscription For all ex-servicemen and women for whom this cemetery is their last resting place. Their bodies are buried in peace. The names liveth forevermore. Also to perpetuate the memory of district ex-servicemen and women of all wars.
