Murrurundi Memorial Garden Middle Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This memorial rose garden is located on the eastern side of the Murrurundi Memorial Hall. It consists of separate rose beds, concrete walkways, and various plinths with plaques. The plaques commemorate those who served in the Boer War, the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Other plaques include service emblems and those for the Women's Services: Women's Royal Australian Naval Service (W.R.A.N.S.), Australian Women's Army Service (A.W.A.S.), Women's Auxiliary Air Force (W.A.A.F.), Australian Women's Land Army (A.W.L.A.), and Royal Australian Army Nursing Corps (R.A.A.N.C.). A grant was received in June 2011 to upgrade the garden and it was officially opened on 24 November 2012. Inscription Sign Memorial Rose Garden This rose garden has been dedicated to the service men and women of Murrurundi and District. This area is maintained by the Lions Club of Murrurundi Inc. Plaque Murrurundi Memorial Garden This garden was officially opened by Mr Earle Kelaher last presiding Mayor of Murrurundi Shire on Saturday 24 November 2012.
