Attached to the base are honour rolls for those who have served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The memorial was unveiled in late July 1937. It is located in the front garden of the Bogan Shire Council offices. Also on site is a foundation stone laid on 10 August 1920 for a Soldiers Memorial Church. At some stage the stone was relocated to accompany the obelisk.
