It is made of a dark timber and features a carved pediment. It is decorated with paintings of a crown, flanked by the crossed Union Jack and Australian flags. In the centre of the board are 54 names of veterans from the Paxton district who served in the war. They are expertly printed in gold lettering, across two columns. Three names are marked with a gold Maltese cross, indicating they were killed in action or otherwise died as a result of their service. The roll is located inside a building at Paxton Public School. Access to the memorial is by appointment/tour. Also on site is The Paxton School War Memorial Garden.
