Pearces Creek First World War Honour Roll Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This war memorial is a polished timber honour roll, decorated at the top with paintings of the crossed Union Jack and Australian flags. It lists 29 members of the Pearce's Creek community who served in the First World War. Their names are printed neatly in gold lettering, with those who made the supreme sacrifice highlighted in a separate box. On 12 July 1916, the Northern Star reported an honour roll had been unveiled in the Pearce's Creek Hall by Mr J. Gettens, who was the Public School teacher. The roll was already inscribed with 16 names, and it was expected more would be added. The roll described in the article is not the version currently hanging in the hall. The names on the current roll are listed in alphabetical order, indicating it was unveiled after the war finished. It is not known what happened to the original roll. Access inside the hall to view the roll is restricted by its opening hours. Also on site is the matching Booyong Pearce's Creek Second World War and Vietnam Honour Roll.
