Pennant Hills Golf Club Memorial Gates Middle Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The Pennant Hills Golf Club Memorial Gates were established in 1956 in honour of those who died in service during the Second World War. The gates consist of three sandstone sections. The central section is the focal point of the memorial. It includes a fountain, which flows into a small bath. The two smaller sandstone wings to the left and right flank the driveways to the club. Pennant Hills Golf Club provided the following information about the memorial: A new entrance gateway to the Club was built in 1956. The Ex-Servicemen's section funded this gateway, that remains a prominent feature of the approach to the Club. The entrance was officially opened on 23rd September 1956 at an impressive ceremony with the then Chairman of the Ex-Servicemen's Section, Eric Stanford, presenting the entrance to President Harry Small. Located inside the club is the Pennant Hills Golf Course Second World War Roll of Honour.
