Description / Background

The memorial is a white marble tablet in memory of those from Riverstone who fell in the First World War. It was originally unveiled in May 1923 and set in a memorial brick wall at the entrance to St Paul's Church of England, Riverstone (now Life Anglican Church Riverstone).

The unveiling of the memorial tablet and brick wall took place on 19 May 1923. The event was presided over by the Rector, Reverend W J Roberts, with the unveiling performed by Major-General Sir Charles Rosenthal MLA. The Rector informed the assembled crowd that the wall had been constructed by voluntary labour. The function concluded with afternoon tea (Windsor and Richmond Gazette, 1 June 1923).

Note: The wall has now been replaced with a white picket fence and the tablet is located on a plinth in front of the old stone church.
