Description / Background

Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church underwent extensions in 1960-1961 which included a new sanctuary, minister's vestry, kirk session room and war memorial chapel. The extensions were completed and dedicated on 9 November 1961 by Minister D Mackenzie Baird.

Within the war memorial chapel is a stained glass window, the top of which features a crown, representing God and Empire, and a Scottish thistle, representing the connection between the Presbyterian Church and Scotland. The emblems of the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces, the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force also feature on the memorial window.
