Description / Background

This memorial is an honour roll for the First World War. It is in the form of a timber cabinet, with two doors that open outward. A simple pediment sits on top of the cabinet bearing the initials U.A.O.D., which stand for United Ancient Order of Druids.

Hand-painted on the inside of the two doors and the centre section of the cabinet are the names of 49 members of the order, who belonged to the Pride of Kurri Lodge, number 487. Above these, read left to right across the full width of the open cabinet, are the words 'Presented by Bro. E. S. Jacobs Past Arch'.

The origins of the board are unknown. However, it is dated 12 December 1916, which could relate to when it was finished or unveiled.

The roll is located in the Sir Edgeworth David Memorial Museum and Library in Abermain, NSW. Access to it is restricted to the opening hours of the museum.
