Yarrahapinni Public School First World War Honour Roll Middle Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The memorial is a polished and varnished timber honour roll, which records six ex-pupils of the Yarrahappini Public School who served in the First World War. It has a distinctive carved pediment at the top, decorated with a painting of four crossed flags and a crown in the centre. Flanking the flags are stylised rifles. The sides of the board feature carved columns and two wings, which act as photo frames for photos of the six men. The memorial is located in the Stuarts Point Workers Recreation and Bowls Club. Although there was a Yarrahappini School of Arts, it is assumed that the roll was unveiled at the public school, which opened in March 1883 and closed in May 1972. After the closure, the roll was moved to the Workers Club, where it is available for viewing when the club is open to the public. Yarrahappini is a small rural community located to the west of Stuarts Point.
