Royal Australian Air Force marks 100 years of service
On 31 March 2021, the Royal Australian Air Force (R.A.A.F.) celebrates its 100th anniversary. Formed on 31 March 1921 as the Australian Air Force, the prefix ‘Royal’ was added shortly after on 13 August 1921.
The NSW War Memorials Register contains many records of war memorials to the R.A.A.F. and the service of NSW men and women, including those listed below. These memorials recognise and reflect on the contribution of the Air Force to Australia's military history and honour the service and sacrifice of its members:
