Description / Background

Memorial Driveway formed with an avenue of Ficus Benjamina 'Exotica' trees, planted as part of the 'Australia Remembers' campaign to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The Driveway is located in Frederick's Lane adjacent to Teven-Tintenbar School.

A newspaper announcement at the time reported the project was a collaboration between the School, Ballina/Newrybar RSL, the NSW Teachers Federation and Amaroo Nursery of McLeans Ridge. It also advised the dedication was planned as part of the School's annual Anzac Day ceremony and representatives from the RSL would be participating in the ceremony to be hosted by the students.
