The gates consist of two brick pillars, topped by lamps. A set of metal gates hang from the pillars. The memorial was dedicated on 5 June 1966 and details of the event are inscribed on a metal plaque attached to the right-hand side pillar. Inscription Plaque Dedicated by Rev. Canon A.E.S.
