Description / Background

The Memorial Gates were erected by the students of the Coolah Central School in memory of ex-servicemen and women of the Coolah District.

The wrought iron gates, which feature a stylised design of the rising sun, are hung between two brick pillars each topped with a decorative light. Two plaques are attached to the pillars: one is inscribed with the dedication and the other with the details of the opening of the memorial gates, which was conducted by Mr Frank Press, Western District Councillor RSL on 9 October 1971.
