Enlisted April 1916, aged 22. Wounded in action June 1917 (grenade fragments to back). Later in the year was sheltering in a dug out with several other soldiers when it suffered a direct hit. Many soldiers were killed. The bodies of Private Lee and one other soldier were never found. Reported Missing in Action October 1917. Subsequently declared KIA, aged 23.
