David Charles Brown was born on 26 January 1923 at Smithfield, NSW. He enlisted in the Australian Army in September 1942. David served with the Australian General Transport Company as a Driver until he was discharged in July 1946, after the end of the Second World War.

David resided in Ingleburn NSW. He was married to Dorothy Isabel Brown. He died on 19 February 1986, at the age of 63.
