Veteran Notes/Bio
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission lists 96 Australians with the surname Morgan who died in the First World War. None of these was a Morgan M. The surname Morgan is not found on any of the Auburn church or school honour rolls and the only Morgan on the Temporary Honour Roll in South Parade is a Morgan R S.
The Municipality of Auburn Honour Roll 1914-1919 lists Morgan R S, Morgan F and Morgan H *, the asterisk indicating that Morgan H died in the war. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission and the Roll of Honour at the Australian War Memorial Canberra in Canberra list nine Australians with the name Morgan H who died in the war but a study of their service dossiers reveals no connection with Auburn for any of them.
