Reynolds was killed in action in France, with no known grave. He is listed on his parent's gravestone at St John's Anglican Church, Lake Bathurst (shown in image below). It reads:

In loving memory of our dear parents Ann Reynolds died 16th Oct. 1923 aged 79 years and Walter Reynolds died 31st July 1924 aged 86 years also of their son Francis Bishop Reynolds killed in France 2nd Aug. 1917 aged 33 years
