Armidale National Servicemen's Association of Australia Memorial Middle Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This monument is a large granite stone block set on a square brickwork base. It is located in Central Park, Armidale. There is one plaque attached to the stone and one to the brickwork in the front of the stone. On 9 February 2003, a severe storm cancelled the procession to the monument for the dedication. It was later redesigned and rededicated on 12 February 2012. The National Service period covered 1951 to 1972, and involved the Navy, Army and Air Force. Inscription Plaque 1 National Servicemen Association of Australia Armidale and District Sub Branch. This plaque is dedicated to the memory of National Servicemen who have passed on. We will never forget. Plaque 2 This memorial was dedicated by the Sub-branch Chaplain, Pastor Bob Collard and the plaque was unveiled by Colonel Rod Davis, OAM, on the 9th February, 2003. The re-designed memorial was dedicated by Rev. David Seaman and this plaque was unveiled by Colonel Rod Davis, OAM, on the 12th February, 2012.
