Earlwood Bardwell Park RSL War Memorial Middle Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This memorial garden features a black obelisk, mounted on a two-tiered base. 'Lest we forget' is inscribed on the base and on the paving in front of the memorial. Behind it is a brick wall, bearing the emblems of the service branches and several honour rolls. The paving is surrounded by a grassed area, garden beds and seating. Two flagpoles are also positioned in the grass, flanking the paved area. In front of each is a low plinth, bearing a plaque. Inscription Plaque 1 This memorial garden is dedicated to the memory of departed comrades of World War I. 1914-1918, World War 2. 1939 - 1945, Korea, Malaya and Vietnam. Officially opened by Sir William Yeo, C.B.E. 3rd March 1968. Plaque 2 The act of dedication was conducted by Rev. K. Baker Church of England Rev. Fr. T. Murphy Catholic Brig. P. Stockall Salvation Army. 3rd March 1968.
