St Thomas' War Memorial Anglican Church, Kingsgrove Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background St Thomas' War Memorial Church is an Anglican church located on Morgan Street in Kingsgrove, NSW. It was built in 1952, beside the former St Thomas' Anglican Church that had been dedicated in 1941. Reverend Geoffrey Mitchell Fletcher (1921–2013) arranged the architect for the building and, as a special favour, Professor Wilkinson donated his services free. Reverend Fletcher served in the Royal Australian Air Force in the Second World War and went on to be the Australian General Secretary of Church Missionary Society. Later, he helped institute World Vision in Australia, serving on both the Australian and international boards for many years. He was a well know inspirational speaker and lived to be a very great age. His wife son and daughter survive him.
