Description / Background

The memorial is a brass plaque inscribed with a dedication to Captain William Shepheard Laidley, who fell in the First World War. It is mounted on a wall in the nave at the western end of All Saints' Anglican Church, Woollahra. 

Services are held regularly at the church. Access to the memorial is restricted by the opening hours of the church.

To the glory of God and in memory of

Captain William Shepheard Laidley M.C.

1st Battery - 1st Brigade - 1st Division. A.F.A.

of "Cheam" Double Bay. Born 3rd November 1886.

Fell in the Great War at Villers Bretonneaux, France.

22nd August, 1918.

We thank thee for the brave & faithful dead.
