Evan MacKenzie Memorial Window

The memorial is a Gothic-shaped stained glass window depicting St Boniface of Mainz, Apostle of Germany, standing beneath the badge of the Royal Australian Air Force. It is dedicated to Pilot Officer (Flying Officer) Evan MacKenzie, with an inscription at the base of the window.

The window was made by John Ashwin and Co., a Sydney-based company specialising in stained glass. The memorial was dedicated by Bishop of Armidale, Right Reverend J.S. Moyes, on 14 December 1952 at a service conducted by the Vicar of Guyra. The well-attended ceremony was described in The Armidale Express and New England General Advertiser on 22 December.

The memorial is located in St Bartholomew's Church on Ollera Station in the locality of Wandsworth NSW. Access to the memorial is restricted as the church is on private property.

Evan Seaforth Mackenzie, of the property 'Glenshiel', was born on 8 September 1918 and the birth was registered at Guyra. He enlisted on 9 December 1940. As a Flying Officer in the 156th Squadron, he was killed on 13 May 1943 in an air battle over Germany. He was buried in the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery in Kieve, Germany.
