Description / Background

The foundation stone of the Glen Innes and District Memorial Club was laid by Sir William Yeo, State President of the Returned Services League on 17 November 1966. The club was officially opened by the Governor of NSW, Sir Roden Cutler on 24 February 1968.

On the front of the building is the name 'Glen Innes Memorial Building' and the badge of the RSL. An honour roll tablet for the Second World War was also previously attached to the building. It was relocated to the Glen Innes Anzac Park Second World War Memorial.

This plaque was unveiled by His Excellency The Governor of New South Wales Sir Roden Culter, V.C., K.C.M.G., C.B.E., on the occasion of the opening of the clubrooms of the Glen Innes and District Services Club 24th February, 1968.
