Goulburn 3rd Battalion Kokoda Track and New Guinea Memorial Plaque Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This war memorial is a bronze plaque attached to a concrete plinth. In addition to the inscription, the plaque contains the badges of the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Commonwealth Military Forces and Royal Australian Air Force. This is one of a series of special memorials on the pathway from the Rocky Hill War Memorial Museum to the nearby Rocky Hill War Memorial Tower and First World War Honour Roll. Inscription This plaque is to commemorate the 3rd Battalion for their struggle along the Kokoda Track and all the service men from Goulburn and District who served in the New Guinea campaigns 1941-1945. Placed by the Friends of Goulburn War Memorial Museum, May 2007.
