Goulburn Boer War Memorial Middle Image Image Image Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The Goulburn Boer War Memorial was unveiled on 14 November 1904. It consists of a sandstone pillar, surmounted by a white marble statue of a soldier. He is depicted in his uniform, standing at attention, while holding a rifle. The pillar features double columns carved on each corner and four white marble tablets, one inset on each side. The tablet on the front of the memorial is inscribed with the dedication. The three other tablets list the honour roll of men who served in the war. All the names are inscribed into the marble and highlighted with black. Inscription Dedication panel Erected to perpetuate the memory of soldiers from Goulburn & district who served in the Boer War 1899–1902. Unveiled 14th November, 1904, W. R. Costley, Mayor.
