Description / Background

This war memorial is a large concrete block from the original perimeter wall of Changi Prison. It has a bronze plaque attached to its front face. The names of the servicemen from the Goulburn area who were prisoners of war at the prison are inscribed on the plaque. In the centre is a map of Singapore Island, and at the top left and right corners are the emblems of the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces and Royal Australian Navy respectively.

This is one of a series of special memorials on the pathway from the Rocky Hill War Memorial Museum to the nearby Rocky Hill War Memorial Tower and First World War Honour Roll.
