Greta Masonic Lodge Excelsior No. 167 Great War Honour Roll Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This war memorial is a stately honour roll for the First World War. It is made of white marble and is attached to a grey marble backing board. The pediment is decorated with the 'Eye of Providence' and the 'Square and Compasses', two common symbols of the Freemasons. The roll lists nine members of the Greta Masonic Lodge, number 167, who served in the war. The names are incised into the marble and blackened. Two members are marked with a cross, indicating they were killed in action. The memorial is located high up on the back wall of the Greta Masonic Hall.
