Kellyville Second World War Roll of Honour Middle Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background At the end of the Second World War, a third memorial board commemorating Kellyville veterans was mounted inside the now-demolished Kellyville Memorial Hall. It was then moved to the Kellyville Recreation Centre, now also demolished, before being moved to its current location at Kellyville Public School. It is attached to an outside wall facing Windsor Road, along with two other boards. The white marble board is approximately 1m high and 950mm wide. It lists 55 Kellyville residents who served during the Second World War: three from the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), 16 from the Royal Australian Air Force (R.A.A.F.), 35 from the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) and one from the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force services (W.A.A.A.F.). Seven veterans listed on the board made the supreme sacrifice. Notes on veterans' names: There are several sets of brothers in the listing. Three of the veterans marked as killed in action, J Parsons, A Popple and R Scott, were unable to be identified as being from the local or surrounding areas. See veterans' notes for more details, including some points of interest on Gordon Kearney (Wainwright). Inscription KELLYVILLE ROLL OF HONOUR 1939 - 1945. R.A.N. [Names] A.I.F. [Names] R.A.A.F.
