Mosman Merchant Navy Memorial Middle Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The memorial is a bronze plaque mounted on a polished plinth and base which is in a garden setting to the south of the Mosman War Memorial located in the Alan Border Oval precinct. At the top of the plaque is the military emblem of the Australian Merchant Navy, the MN is within a wreath of rope and at the top of the rope is a boat set within the British Crown. The monument commemorates the members of the Australian Merchant Navy who died in service or were killed in action in the First and Second World Wars. Inscription MN AUSTRALIA In honour of those of the Australian Merchant Navy who gave their lives for their country and have no known grave but the sea.
