Description / Background

This Lone Pine tree is located in Robertson Park in Mudgee NSW. It was planted on Anzac Day in 2015 and is accompanied by a plaque attached to a bushrock positioned at the base of the tree.

The significance of the Lone Pine for Australian military service goes back to the First World War. Lone Pine seedlings have been developed as a result of the partnership between the Australian War Memorial and Yarralumla Nursery in Canberra. Consequently, many Lone Pine seedlings have been planted in schools and public parks on commemorative occasions.
