Description / Background

The Murwillumbah Memorial Wall is a curved concrete wall that has been painted white. It was dedicated on 25 April 2001 by the students of local schools, in honour of all who have served.

Attached to the front of the wall are the emblems of the three branches of the Australian Defence Force, the RSL, and the Merchant Navy. The back of the wall is reserved for the placement of plaques by recognised service associations and units. These plaques often commemorate Australians who have served in conflicts and peacekeeping missions.

The wall is located in Remembrance Place, Murwillumbah, adjacent to the Murwillumbah War Memorial. It is surrounded by an area of paving and a flagpole stands in front of it. Various commemorative services take place on site.
