This war memorial is a large, multi-panelled timber honour board for the First World War. It contains inscriptions and veterans' names printed in gilt. Names are listed on the board in order of enlistment date. In some cases, the part of the Department of Education in which the veteran worked is also recorded.

The memorial is located in the NSW Department of Education building. It is flanked by the Australian and New South Wales flags.
