Numulgi Second World War Roll of Honour Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The Numulgi Second World War Roll of Honour is a polished cedar board, set within a timber case with a glass front. The board is decoratively carved, with two turned columns, finials, and scrollwork. It also features colour paintings of the Australian Coat of Arms, the Allied flags, a Latin cross, a world globe, Australian flowers, a portrait of a soldier and two small figures, and a countryside vista. The board lists the names of 22 members of the community who served in the war. Their names are neatly printed in white in two columns down the centre panel. Those who survived are listed on the left and those who died are on the right, under the heading 'In Memoriam'. The roll was made by the Chester Snow Company of Lismore, who completed a number of timber honour rolls on the North Coast of NSW. They also produced the matching Numulgi First World War Roll of Honour. The unveiling ceremony took place in the Numulgi Hall on 10 December 1947. It had been advertised in the Northern Star that same day. The roll is available for viewing when there is a social or meeting at the Hall.
