Description / Background

These stained glass windows are located at St Mary's Anglican Church in Balmain East. They were installed in honour of members of the church who served in the First World War.

Each window is comprised of two panels (one each side of the sandstone mullion) at the bottom of a leaded window. They are uniform in colour and style of lettering.

  • The window dedicated to the Bulmer brothers is located on the western side of the church.
  • The window dedicated to Roy Seaman is located on the eastern side of the church.
  • The window dedicated to Tasman Vale is located at the southern end of the church, on the right-hand side of the main entrance (viewed from outside). It also includes the name of Henry Vale.

Inscriptions in each case provide the name and rank of the soldier and the date and location of his death.
