Description / Background

This war memorial consists of two timber honour rolls for the former St Paul's Anglican Church in Ulmarra. The boards are a matching pair and were presumably attached or hung together originally. Both boards are rectangular, with a triangular pediment on the top. Carved into each pediment is the symbol of the Trinity—the father, son, and holy ghost.

The memorial was a gift to the church from Mr J B Campbell. It was unveiled and dedicated at a church service on 18 June 1916 (Daily Examiner, 17 June 1916).

Following closure of the church in the 1990s, the boards were moved to St Matthew's Anglican Church in South Grafton, which was later re-named South Grafton Anglican Church.

Also on site is the St Paul's Anglican Church Ulmarra Second World War Roll of Honour, South Grafton, which has a similar design.
