Description / Background

The Wahroonga Great War Memorial is a stone pillar, positioned on raised platform that is accessed by four stone steps. There are honour roll tablets set into each of the four faces of the memorial. A laurel wreath is carved onto the front face, directly above the tablet for those who died in service. The remaining tablets list the names of veterans by their year of enlistment.

The memorial was unveiled by the Prime Minister of Australia, Mr Stanley Melbourne Bruce, on 28 February 1925. It is located in the Sir John Northcott Garden, adjacent to Wahroonga railway station.
