Wollongong Vietnam Veterans Memorial Middle Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The Wollongong Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a grouping of three large stone monuments, flanked by two angled walls made of the same material. They are set in a circle of pebblecrete paving. The walls feature an honour roll of those who served in the war. A pebbecrete pathway leads to the central group. A second set of angled walls are positioned along the path, which are made of a different stone. Numerous plaques for individual veterans are attached to these walls. The walls were a later addition to the memorial, which was originally unveiled on 5 October 1987. The whole area is well-lit by flood lights and includes bench seating and a flagpole. It is used for Anzac Day commemorative services.
